I had an Intervention done on me.

My parents did an intervention on my sister & I. They have always knew we drink. My brothers are drinkers too. I swear the only people I know in my ife that don't drink are my parents. However my dad was a bad alcoholic for 30 years.

I have to say I was very reluctant, and kept saying I didn't have a problem.
Well about 45 min into it, I agreed I have a problem. I admitted my drinking has gotten so out of hand because I am having panic attacks, lots of anxiety,
I really think this is the first time I looked at someone in the eye and said I have a drinking problem. I said I would stop on my own but my parents said no way, I had to agree to see a therapist to see if we can work on why I have so much anxiety.

I have my first appointment today, I am worried I am going to have a panic attack when I get there.

That sounds like a very positive thing in your life.

I hope your therapist helps you to deal with your issues and your addiction.

I think your appt. will go better than what your thinking. Be completely honest though so you can start working on the roots. You did a very brave thing by admitting your problem.

Keep us posted on how your appt. goes!!

HUGS,
Reb

Please, try not to worry about this. If it happens, it happens. Speak from your heart as much as you can. It may/will be cleansing and you will be one step closer, my friend.

Glad you are here! Let us know how it goes.

Hang in there TABM. Your folks care deeply for you. They know what alcoholism based on your dad's own experience with it. You know where to find me if you need to talk. Hugs.

What a loving family you have! That is such a blessing, truly.
I hope it goes well with your therapist. And maybe you will find that your anxiety level will decrease considerably after you quit drinking. I know mine did.
Let us know how it goes. We are here if you need us.

I think that's great. Hope you took deep breaths and got through it.

I bet you'll find that after the drink is gone, so will the anxiety. You'll sleep better than you ever thought and you'll feel like you gained 20 years physically in health.

My best to you!!
