Hi Gang,my name is Karen and I live in British Colunbia Canada.I do not have a drinking problem but someone near and dear to me does.I am watching himself kill himself and don,t know what more I can do?Let's hope detox has a bed available today as he did put his name in 7 days ago.The wait has been a very go.Anyways he is depressed as well talking about killing himself .It's becoming hard for me .Yesterday he told me to go as we don't live together and that is something he hasn't done before.I am waiting for him so he can call detox as he has no phone.Anyways I will keep in touch,Karen

I hope that he goes. If he is suicidal, call the police or other authorities.. suicide threats should always be taken seriously.

There's nothing you can do to 'help' him at this point (or any point in his addiction), please care for yourself as best you can, it sounds like you really care about him.
