In need of someone to talk to
You can also call the AA number in your phone book, they usually have someone there, and if it is a recording ask for a call back and someone will usually get back to you shortly.
When you are at your meeting tonight try and get a phone number or two so when you feel this way you can pick up the phone nd call. No, you won't be bothering the person. We give out our phone numbers for exactly this purpose, honest.
Hope that helps.
Love and hugs,

Thanks again....it's been a horrible long day...been reading a lot of others posts....waiting to go to this meeting tonight.
I know one meeting isn't going to change everything, and I know this is going to be a long and difficult battle but I can't wait to get at least one meeting under my belt, and feel like this is going to be the time...FOR GOOD
I've been trying to get and stay sober for about 4 years now...I have had some long ones---9 months was my longest...but I always allowed myself to think it was ok to drink again.
I'm going to try AA---obviously I can not do this on my own.
I can not afford any kind of rehab or treatment...plus I'm in school right now and I don't want to ruin that to. AA is the only option I can find, plus reading and posting here---but this has not been enough.
Are there other support groups/meetings out there besides AA? I've been looking on the internet and can not seem to find anything that does cost money?
Thanks for the help

2-1-1 Call Center Search
That web site is great for finding local numbers, they may even have a crisis hotline. Someone to call if you need to talk immediately. They have one here in the Palm Beaches, I have called them several times when I've really needed it. They are wonderful.
Best of luck to you. I know this is all very hard. :ghug3

Jade, for me I found that by going to AA meetings I developed a network of women who were always available to help me through anything I was going through, and it didn't cost me anything. Yes AA is free and has been in existence for many, many years, helping in recovery.
I am glad to read you are now willing to try AA, please raise your hand and share that you are new and I bet you will be given a meeting book and many numbers for times like this. Please build yourself a network of women, it will help in your recovery.
There are so many meetings in your area and so many different times for you to choose from.

So I made it through the door, and finally went to a meeting....wish I had the strength to have gone a long time ago.
I am so happy I went, I know it will not be easy, and one meeting isn't going to be a quick fix but for the first time I feel like I can do this, and stay sober. Everyone was very kind, understanding and made me feel welcome.
Thanks for all the support....I am trying to find another one I can go to tomorrow.

Yeah, One foot in front of the other. What courage and strength.:ghug2
They told me to keep going until I liked to go. Yeah, so it took around a year
and a half but sometimes were just messed up units. Ain't it a good feeling to
be welcomed without anything expected of you?
