Lightbulb Hubby out of town and craving...

I know in my mind that I will do fine, but those voices in my head R active.
Trying to keep busy.
Just finished raking up the dog poop in the backyard; unbelievable how much 5 Chihuahua's mess can be there.
Emptying out cabinets and shorage area's for a yard sale in 9 days.
Been to a AA meeting this early AM. Will call my sponser soon, can't relate to her that much. She is okay, but we both 'dance to a different drummer,' LOL.
I will get thur this mess..
Any more ideals.

Read something. Make a list of all the terrible things alcohol has done to you, then read it back to yourself before you pick up. This will pass hang tough.

Cactus....

Oh the voices...they can speak sooo loudly.

It gets a bit better with time...

And the voices, well, they are lies..the demon is trying anything it can to protect its territory..

Stay strong, think it thru..

Don't drink.

get thee hiney to more meetings

reach out to a newcomer

call EVERY phone # you have

if there is an "alano club" or some sort of equivalent, go there, like a meeting hall where they have 3-4 meetings a day

don't try to do this "alone" it's our thinking that gets us in this mess in the first place.

hang in there kiddo

Okay, as dgillz says, (Thanks) here is a list:
Losing my son's respect.
Board of Nursing and future reprocussions.
Future DUI's/Accidents.
Acting like a a**.
Giving up all this time, 34 days.
Sadness...
Still working on this.
I'm trying to stay strong and it is working, but know that I have the keys to my car and hubby's truck. Just a short ride to a store, less than a mile.
Brewing some tea, as I speak..

I do believe you've got the right idea by staying busy.

Your sponsor isn't the only one you can hang with in AA though.
I've got frined in the program that share many different hobbies with me.

My sponsor sails, other friends like sports, some like concerts etc.

Stay on here if, you can't find anyone to connect with

One day at a time sometimes, it's a moment at a time

Just emptied another cabinet...The junk in there, cast iron pans, too many to use and other stuff.
I will not drink today, that is what I keep repeating. Keeping busy, thanks Captain...
Thanks 4 all the support, I think I'll make it...
I'm staying strong, do not worry, I will not drink today.
Now, one more cabinet in the kitchen.

Good advice here TC - it's good you made it through the day.

I would always read my old threads when I was struggling - it helped me remember where I'd come from

I totally agree with dgillz...make a list of all the terrible things you went thru. Even if you don't need or use it today, it will still be there for when the demon comes knocking at your door.

Thanks for sharing, TallCactus. It helped me to read how your day (and craving) progressed. I think I'll keep cleaning the kitchen cabinets in mind next time I need to keep busy!

34 days is awesome.
