actually mine was not a party. i just started drinking when i got home friday evening to pass out level.
started saturday morning until evening pass out time.
repeat on sunday.
repeat on monday.
went to work on tuesday in a truly 'toxic' state. i've quit once for 3 months and once for 2 months in the past year and a half. what i did those times was quit coming here to remind me that i can't drink socially. i did at first but the end game is a weekend like i just described.
when i quit for 3 months my health got to the point i had to go off b.p. meds because my body responded so well to no alcohol intake. i'm a much more productive person around the house too when i don't drink. sept. 8th will be a day to remember i hope. thanks for your support.

Yes it is. The camp was bought by hubby's grandfather so it is co-owned by a lot of people. I don't think hubby is even sure who. Only one sister is still in PA, but my BIL gets in at least twice a year from Virginia and hubby goes there to hunt each year. I hadn't been there in three years - which is too long.
We did talk a nice long walk up a hill to a gas line, where you could see all the way down to the Clarion River, off in the distance. Thought about renting a canoe, but they said the river was low and we had the dogs there which would have been inconvenient.
I've never been to State College, though. I'm not from PA, so I've only been to camp and some of the areas in western PA where my hubby grew up (when my MIL was still alive). Also to the Poconos, but that was a long time ago.

Sigh...I need to get back out into the woods. I picked up hiking again during my last 3-month stint of not drinking. Not sure why I drifted away from it, but there's a peace out there that I don't think alcohol or any drug can match. And there's certainly enough new ground to cover out here that I could spend the rest of my life and never walk the same path twice.
Thanks...I needed to be reminded of that!

WantToHeal I love hiking to. I havn't been in a long time. But you're right getting out there and with my dogs especially, there's no better high.
Day 6 for me. This was the best day I've had yet. I got up and I went to school. Stayed for both classes and the entire time. I was out of it and barely paid attention to the lectures. But I was there and it's a start. Then when I came home exhausted and with homework. I decided to leave it for the morning when it was my usual pattern to sit down with my work and take a bunch of ritalin. I watched 90210 and played with my dog instead.

Good morning and hello to the new people. Day 10 today. Cath, I had to stop and calculate yesterday! My brain isn't quite functioning yet. Congrats on day 13! I'm glad to be sober today and glad we have people on here to share sobriety with. I'm kind of overwhelmed by the whole board and glad there is a small corner in which to meet people.

Yesterday was a very stressful day. My girlfriend quit her job about 6 months ago and hasn't found anything since so it's just my income taking care of us. We are so broke it's not even funny. Anyways, I really felt like having a beer but I didn't.
PROTIP: Don't quit your job unless you have already found a new one.
Day 17 today.

Funny I was thining about that today, I had to stop at Walmart & get a few things, which ended up adding up to $112, but as I was loading the bags I thought to myself in the last nine days I probably would have gone 3 bottles & been on my way to the liquior store today. So 4 bottles at $22 is nearly $100!
