Another Monday of
Another Monday of
No shakes,
No ANXIETY (more than I should have),
No blues,
No morning shots to reset my ills,
No sour stomach,
No deadly breath (its still bad... naturally),
No post-drinking fumes emitted from my pores,
No need to apologize for the weekend,
No deadly, toxic odors personally left in the restroom at work (drinking smells baaaaad!),
No whining,
No why-me's,
No shots at noon to finish the day,
No Lysol coverups and handfuls of Altoids,
No panic in the afternoon,
No fear,
No wondering who knows, not if anyone knows, WHO actually knows.
AND no more waste of a life for what LITTLE alcohol did for a SMALL amount of time!
Add your own...

Living life, free of the bonds of my alcoholism and all of the other fears, resentments, hatred, self hatred, etc. that my alcoholism used to bring me!
Free, free to choose, free of myself!
Free, free to choose, free of myself!
First Monday in a long while (on day 2, again)...
Woke up clear headed
Didn't stumble/fall to the bathroom
Didn't hate myself
Throat was much less swollen
No gut rot
Was able to give my cat some love
Was able to listen to and remember morning instructions form my boss
Didn't feel ashamed
Didn't have to hide the shakes
Didn't have to dowse my eyes with drops
Didn't avoid eye contact with co-workers
Woke up KNOWING that I'm going to make the 3 day mark this time
I could go on and on. It's a good day

I suvrived the day (its 6:15pm here)..had a BBQ today and could've quite happily cracked open a cold Bud with my husband, had a can of diet coke instead lol...day 9 so far...I know I will feel better for it in the morning...not having that self resentment and guilt first thing is great...its very empowering!
