Sobriety is Such a Blessing and Joy
 

Awoke again this morning instead of coming to. Got showered and dressed without throwing up or shaking. Ate breakfast on a stomach that knows hunger instead of indigestion. Came to work instead of calling in sick or not calling in at all. Am productive instead of being a zombie. I can't describe how much more fulfilling my life is sober instead of drunk. Everything, even the hard times, are a gift. e.e. cummings put it well for me.

Indeed. I think that's one plus about being an alcoholic, is that we can feel like a million bucks just being sober.

Most of my life I thought this was pure Bull****.

Now I have MORE material problems then ever before. To a third party observer it must look like suffering. But from my "new attitude", I see it as diamonds in the rough:

I can't do this my whole life, but day by day i can. Today I will not drink, for today.
