New and looking for help with codependency.

Hello All,

I'm Suzanne (aka Mouse),
I've been trying to find a forum for help with co-dependency. I've been going through some hard stuff and with a help of a friend realizing that I have problems with co-dependency. A friend of mine is sending me a book to help, i also thought a forum would be a good place to go to as well for help.

thanks,

~Suzanne

I'm here mainly for alcoholism, but I also have serious codependency issues. I don't live with an alcoholic other than myself, but my need to please others coupled with their response, determines my emotions. I'm not sure of your situation, but if you google codependency, you can find some good info there. CODA meetings may also be helpful. Furthermore, I don't think its uncommon for alcoholics/addicts to have codependency issues as well, so you can get some support here to.

Good luck to you

WELCOME!!!

Try the 'Friends and Family' forum, dealing mainly with codependency issues there.

Keep coming back, you'll find a lot of support here.

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I'm not quite sure where to look. None of my family or I have problem with alcohol or drugs. I'm not sure.

There is a great thread called Codependency and Beyond, on the newcomers daily support forum. Give it a try. I find it helpful.:ghug3

Thing is, haven't encountered it very often but have seen the codie family dynamic where there didn't appear to be any alcohol/substance abuse problems.

There aren't any forums specifically addressing that kind of situation but you may find the information in those F & F forums to be very helpful.

At the end of the day, we're all here for the same reason, trying to get healthy.
