the dizzy spiral

wow, made to 10 am before the beverage of choice said hello.... very unhappy about this but self loathing is part of the psyhce... sat on my deck yesterday for 2 hours and cleared my mind... not chemically but an overhaul of what I need to do... blessings that I have my wife who stands tall and strong and loves me for the essence of who I am/ and used to be. I enjoyed a few hours yesterday at the beach with the kids and lolloping great dane and of course folks were real friendly and offered beer.... ahhh I will miss this but this chapter is finished and I am looking at day one tomorrow...again... stand and be counted for what you are about to receive. Stand I will try.... Namaste all.

Greetings, day one tomorrow can be the last day one tomorow if you truely want it to be. Alcoholism is a primary, chronic, progressive, and always fatal disease if left untreated (not picking up). It is a brain disease which fools our lymbic system into believing that alcohol is as necessary as air to survive, hense the cravings. There is no cure but there is recovery. We don't have control over drinking but we do have control over not drinking. It takes total committment and all the resources and support we can muster. Trying to go it alone is like trying to operate on ourselves. My best in your recovery efforts and thanks for posting, that's a good start.

"wow, made to 10 am before the beverage of choice said hello...."

Made it to 10:00AM before you made the choice to drink you mean...?

You said hello to the drink, it didn't come and find you, did it...?

Perhaps start taking responsibility for YOUR actions...?

The beverage didn't say hello, you decided to drink it... right?

Realize that you are not the VICTIM, you are the culprit.

Only YOU can CHOOSE to drink.

Now... what are you going to do differently to make sure it doesn't happen again? Work a program, do the steps, go to AA, call someone...? Do something different.

Keep coming back.

Have you considered adding a structured recovery program
to your life? For me.....AA meetings were like
classrooms for living sober.
The more I attended...the quicker I learned...

Blessings to you and your family
