This is very scary, but I keep having this dream
Where I am drinking, in my dreams
and I wake up so disappointed in myself
and then realize it is only a dream
and I am still sober.
Very strange, needed to share it.

I've gone through that as well as many if not most here have. They were very frightening to me in the beginning now I treasure those drinking dreams as reminders of what I want to avoid.

Very normal, the further I got from my last drink and the more I worked on my recovery the fewer I had. It does get better, the dreams can be scary at first, but eventually I got to the point where I knew if I was drinking I had to be dreaming.

Being an alcoholic I have a feeling they may never totally go away, but it has been some time since I had one.

I accept drinking dreams as a reminder of what could happen if I am not alert.
