TOPIC: Today It's Cell Phone's. Txting. What Cell Do U Use To Keep Connected?
Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
Yrs ago when AA began there were
no such thing as cell phones to reach
ur sponsor or help one another in
recovery.
However many yrs later and new
technology we have these neat
little phones we use for txting,
messaging, contacting, reminding,
and so much more.
There's no excuse now not to pick
up the phone and call for help if u
want to pick up, or ur feeling down.
Right?
Im just about ready to add another
2 yr contract with a new upgrade
cell phone with Verizon , however
im at a lost of what to get.
I know if i were a high schooler
or in college then id want all the
bells and whistles that come with
it.
Seems as tho the younger gener-
ation love a challenge figuring out
new gagets, right?
Well.....what about middle age and
senior citizens...
no im not there yet. lol I have lots
of road to travel on the Harley
before i settle down....
Would you like to share what's ur
thoughts or experience on what's
good for us middle age folks....lol
Big letters and numbers and large
buttons..... lol and small
enough to put in ur pocket tho,,,,
Long battery life, and sounds loud
for the hearing impaired....
....Im not there yet either ...lol

My company supplies me with a Samsung Glyde. I'm grateful to have the use of it, it comes in very handy for talking and texting with others in recovery, and the pic & video messaging is nice too.
But.....
I can't stand the touch screen. Never seems to work right, it's either too sensitive or I touch it and nothing happens, or I touch it in one spot and it keys off in another spot. Sigh. I really prefer push-buttons. But again, it's free to use so I can't complain.

I got a Sony Ericsson walkman phone for free when my contact expired. I got it because it was green:P but it has a good working radio (free) and the best thing I discovered, it has a pedometer!! I walk about 10 miles a day for work so I love this feature. It tracks calories burned, automatically resets at midnight, and stores previous days/weeks data=)
36 isnt old....lol I may have been in
my late 30's or earlie 40's before i got
my first cell.
Cells back then were neanderthal....
sort of like the old cars, tanks...lol
Im a passanger on our 2008 Road King
Classic which we added a trike kit and
tour package to it. The next thing will be
to add our new Maltese Cross tail lights
and an intercom and radio so we can listen
to music and talk to each other. Cant wait..!

I'm in some sort of Twilight Zone-y middle generation, I remember pay phones and I am comfortable with electronic gadgets. However, I use a $20 Nokia something or other I got from Walmart a couple years ago. It texts, calls people (with buttons!) and more stuff that I never use, like AIM. And my peers make fun of me for not having a $500 phone with camera and currency exchange and music and Google other features I probably wouldn't use either.
I'm always amazed at my classmates, mostly in their early 20's, who cannot put down their phones for a one hour lecture...

I have a red, slider, real thin with most of the gadgets and I added some bling to it, just love my phone.
Speaking of younger folks than myself:
Was on the toilet in a restroom. At first I thought this lady was talking to me, then after she did not respond to my saying, "excuse me" I got it.( Hell, I thought, maybe she needed TP. Wow, on the toilet, then low and behold I found myself in this same position, answering a call while you know....

I can't see the fuss with touch screen, the ones I had were no good anyway. I use a Sony Ericsson walkman and its the best phone ive had. I use it for taking videos more than anything else as it has an amazing amount of memory for a mobile phone.
I've got a four year old Samsung verizon phone. They keep asking me to get a new phone but I like the old one and will keep it until it dies. Also like it cause it's got a nice leather case so easier to handle than the slippery phone itself. Plus has a belt clip and a fabric loop for carrying. I like the old stuff...
Does anyone remember the 'bricks'? Lol mobile phones in the late 80's. I had one in 1988 and it was like carrying a laptop in my pocket. I still have it (not working obviously) and its like 6 or 7 times bigger than my Ericsson lol
I read text, I do not reply text unless the answer is "k"!
I bought the cheapest AT&T LG phone they had last time, I was surprised to learn it had a camera, I discovered this after I had the phone at home.
I hated cell phones when I was drinking, I did not want anyone to be able to contact me, I needed to be in control of my isolation!

Yeah, I have a cheapy Nokia, too. I had a more expensive one, but it crapped out after a year. Big surprise...those things are made to break (and I treated it with kid gloves).
I could probably throw my cheapy one against the wall and not break it.
least...i like the one u discribed.....what model
is it? oh and I love RED...i do have a small Samsung
i bought online to use with my T-Mobil.
Sony Walkman sounds intersting.

(sorry for the hijack!)
I have a Samsung Blackjack ll. It has more options than I will use anytime soon but, for me, the time will present itself. It has taken a beating and remains in good condition. It's not a flip type phone nor is it a glide type. It is red though! lol
