TOPIC: Tooting My Own Horn At 19 yrs. Of Many ODAAT
Hi Im Sharon and Alcoholic.
Yesterday has come and
gone, however today im
still sober at 19 yrs. and
a day.
I come here to SR from
time to time to share my
own ESH with the new-
comers to give them hope
that there is light at the
end of the tunnel.
I began at day one in a
28 day rehab program then
continued on a paved road
of recovery that many
have taken before me and
have followed.
They talk about having fun
in recovery as much as
I couldnt see that at the
beginning and i kept coming
back day after day till I
am where im at today, happy.
Recovery for me is a way
of life as i incorperate the
12 steps in my everyday life.
In doing so i learned to enjoy
life each day by helping others
in recovery and giving away
what was so freely passed
on to me so many times.
So i come back today here
in SR to toot my own horn
for 19 yrs sober and to share
that the promises do come
true as stated in our BB of AA
if we work for them.
Keep Coming Back as we
often hear just as I do.

TOOT THAT HORN LOUDLY GIRL!! YOU DESERVE IT I remember going to a few AA meetings and a couple of people had like 30+ yrs of sobriety and I wanted to be like them! In those early days I really didn't know if I would live long enough to have 30 yrs sobriety (I'd have to live to 80!) but I have a sneaking suspiciion that I will see my 80th birthday.
Help! I need somebody
Help! Not just anybody
Help! You know I need someone
Help!
When I was younger, so much younger than today
I never needed anybody's help in any way
But now these days are gone I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind, I've opened up the doors
Help me if you can I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please please help me?
And now my life has changed in oh so many ways
My independence seems to vanish in the haze
But every now and then I feel so insecure
I know that I just need you like I've never done before
Help me if you can I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please please help me?
