When meetings mean more than just staying
When meetings mean more than just staying
Sober
My mental health has been on a roller coaster ride so I've been trying to stay busy. Although I have no desire to drink I went to a noon meeting the other day. I got up to leave early and another person that I know came out to say hi. That's when I learned that meetings are more than just a means of staying sober. After the chat we both went back in a finished the meeting.
If it hadn't been for this person I might not have gotten the real message.
just rambling and hoping this made sense.

ABSOLUTELY and POSITIVELY!!!!!
Meetings were my SAFE HAVEN. Meetings helped to keep me grounded. Meetings helped to quiet the committee in my head.
And ................................ the meetings after the meetings (going for coffee after the meeting with others in the program) were just an extension of the fellowship for me. I lived in meetings when I wasn't at work or at the recovery house. In my early recovery meetings were my savior.
So yes, I agree 1000%!!!!
Love and hugs,
