Freedom 1990!!!
Lots of hard work, and learning to seek guidance from my HP, whom I choose to call God.
I've been an active member of AA for a few 24 hours, really dug into some service work again over the past year, and am an avid reader of the Big Book. My sponsor told me long ago that all my answers are within the first 164 pages, and that has been true for me.
There's been nothing so bad in my life that a drink wouldn't have made it worse. I've used the serenity prayer thousands of times. The 12 steps of AA are there for a reason, and it isn't to work them once and be done with them.
Today I am incredibly grateful for my sobriety. Anything else that comes along, like finally completing my college degree, is just icing on the cake for me. The most important thing that I do each day is to embrace sobriety.
