You've taken the first step in recovery!
Asking for help is a giant leap into recovery! Congratulations! There is so much help available. The next thing you can do is get yourself to an AA meeting. You don't have to feel miserable ever again...:praying
Thirdeye,
YOU ARE NOT DEFEATED!! The fact that you came here and posted shows that you have a will to fight. Times get tough. Some fight, some run. You are here which shows that you are a fighter. You may not get it right away but if you keep looking for help you will find that "thing" that will lead to what you want. Hold your head high and listen to the advice of those who have walked this path and one day you will be the one who able to pass on your advice about how you defeated your weakness.
I hope that is not to strong.

You recognize your problem and sound like you're ready to take a step toward recovery. That in and of itself is a huge step. There is lots of great advice on here, but you're the one that has to make the decision to take it. Good luck...you really can do it!!!

I don't want to bump this post, but I do want to thank everyone for the support.
Life has definitely become better for me. I am slowly making progress, and it has been hard. But with some time, discipline, and the help of good people, I will be ok.
Thank you all again.
I am glad that this forum exists.
