Getting to Love yourself Sober more than you Love yourself Drunk is a Big Corner to turn but it can be done. If you don't make that Mental jump you will always end up being resentful of your Sober Time butting into your Drunk Time.
However, the Cost Benefit Analysis is always a One Way Street. With Alcoholism the Costs (Bad Consequences) always grow and accelerate and the Benefits (Life or Party, ect.) always diminish and eventually stop altogether. You just need to decide when and if you want to get off that Runaway Train. Smart people choose to get off early before it has picked up momentum. Others wait until it crashes off a cliff.
