i will let people know how the meeting goes,to be honest im a bit worried about the whole god side of it! i dont believe in god. i believe in something else. this has been an issue for me going to the aa meetings because i know they put a lot of emphasiss in this area. dont get me wrong i think if believing in god makes some one a better person thats great, but i also believe in evolution. so if god is your spirit as a human being and your strength in your self is that just a name for will and belief in ones self?

I'm sure others will be along to help you more with this.

Hello Nitrous, (((Hugs)))
A big large SR WELCOME to you!!! Your in a great place with us and AA rocks!! In one of our readings last week at AA it was titled "Listen Deeply". That just really hit me personally and made a ton of sense for me being still fairly new to the program. It is NOT a "religious" program friend...it is a "Spiritual" program. That is often easily misunderstood until you've been there awhile. It's like NewBeginning said...your Higher Power can be anything you believe in and respect and love outside of yourself. Lots of folks seem to use the AA group they belong to as a Higher Power until they are more settled in AA and their struggles with their beliefs, some choose nature or things. It's up to you though and I wish you the very very best!!
Hope to hear more from you again soon Nitrous.
