Is there something special about 90 days?
I'm just wondering if there is supposed to be some sort of change in you, or if things seem easier after 90 days. I keep reading "90 meetings in 90 days", etc. Did you feel different after 90 days? (no I'm not there yet, but I will be someday!)

Statistics show that a HIGH % of people relapse within the first 90 days.
After 90 days of meetings I really felt like I had a strong foothold in the program.
I ACTUALLY FELT LIKE I BELONGED TO A GROUP!
ME... ACTUALLY BELONGING.
Many have no idea of how miraculous that really is, lol.

Hi,
I think milestones are important to some people and not so important to others. It just depends on the person.
It's always nice to look back with some perspective, and to see how far you've come.
I'm not an AA person, but I did feel different after about 3 weeks, and from there on, it was a case of working on recovery every single day.

My 90th day was very special but so was day 91. Everyday sober seems special.
I really like being sober- It's still new to me- bright and shiny. I think it will still be bright and shiny after one year. Don't want any dull in this program so I just work on it day by day.
Yup, day 90 was special

Actually, there is something special about 90 days. Psychologists believe that when behavior is modified, the brain will "reset" itself after a 90 day period to adapt to the new behavior. It's sort of a conditioning process. The 90 meetings are a different story. If you go to 90 meetings during that period you're less likely to drink and the meetings will reinforce the new behavior modification.
What's interesting here is that the 90 days thing is a recent "discovery" by psychologists, whereas AA has been preaching the 90 in 90 routine for years. Nothing like being on the cutting edge....
