Yet another tragedy in the streets.

Watching the news earlier and I saw a story about a man who threw a liquid on a woman and set her on fire in the city..The same neighborhood and street I be at when I am there gettin high. She is in a burn unit right now. Her shoulders and head and face were burned. They said she was in so much pain when they arrived that she couldnt even talk.
I heard the name and it turned out to be my best friend that I grew up with's sister.
I remember when we were kids her sister was wild in the streets smoking crack. We would be so scared when she came home. We would lock ourselves in her room.
She was such a beautiful girl too. She was a model and hair stylist. She has been addicted for so long. Their family were like my second family.
I hope she comes out of it ok and recovers fully.
Its so sad to see things like that happen.
But then again what else is to be expected when you live that life style?

The streets are harsh that way...shameful. I hope your friend recovers and finds addiction recovery too. Many blessings and peace for your friend and you too chiynita.

Wow, powerful post. Makes me stop and think, and then it makes me grateful to be in recovery. So very glad you are in recovery, too. Hugs to you and prayers for your friends.
