sorrow.

sorrow is sorrow......wherever you an alcoholic or not.

that empty feeling....of complete despair...

but i have prayer.........and the memories.......jeez i cant do the memorys.

jake my ridgeback died last night......after a battle to save him he just didnt have the strength to go on anymore..

now i have a jake size hole inside me that is difficult to bear..

he didnt die of old age rather a virus or poison that destroyed his liver.
hopefully extensive blood tests with confirm what.

jake was around when i was drinking...and sat with me many times.

he has been part of my life that involved huge changes....

god be with you jake. i love and miss you.

i wont drink today.......there aint no excuses.

Trucker, I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like Jake had a great friend and master, I smiled to know that you probably helped each other through some tough times.

Sorry for your loss, my friend...I am so happy you have chosen to honor Jake by not using his passing as an excuse to drink. Keep strong! Jomey

oh, ((Trucker)) I am so very, very sorry. I know how much Jake meant to you, and how much my furbabies mean to me. They truly are members of our family and the love we have for them is realy, just as the pain is real when they leave us.

Though you're heart is hurting, ((Jake)) is running, strong and painfree, waiting for you at the Rainbow.

Sending you many, many hugs and prayers!

Amy

May God be near to you also Trucker.
You are loved, even though this dear friend
and companion has left this earth last night.
Rejoice in the memory of the times you relied on each other for love
and acceptance through all that happened while you were together.
Praying for you during this time of sorrow and loss.

I like my dogs more than I do most people, I have lost 3 dogs in recovery, it hurts likes a son of a b@tch no doubt about that, My experience is the pain never quite leaves but the intensity of it diminishes and the warm memories soothe the heart ache.

Take solace in knowing your dog was loved, and that he loved you, you are both richer for having been able to walk together during this life. Perhaps you will walk again some day. GOd bless you, I will keep you in prayer, I know how devastating this is.

Hey Shaun,

Wow what a loss that is. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Of all the things that our animals give us, the most important thing is unconditional love. Jake may be gone now, but do remember that unconditional love the little critter had for you. It's so seldom we find that kind of love from any other being in this world. May Jake rest in peace for all eternity.

And may I just add...thanks Shaun, for all your input and support for the many people of SR that you reach. You're a great guy with a unique perspective on things. Take it easy. You have my thoughts.

Ken

I understand, I have several now at:

<Rainbow Bridge>

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown...
Love and hugs,

Sorry Trucker...ugh...I know the loss of losing your friend. They're with you through thick and thin and never waver on their love and commitment to you. You can carry Jake in your heart forever.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
