Sobertime Shout Out

Hi everyone!

Check your sober time on our forum calculator. Click here

and enter your sober date. Voila! You have the days, minutes and even sober heartbeats you've enjoyed. Good stuff.

I just had a wow moment when I entered my sobriety date. I'm at 345 days sober! Holy Moley! I am 20 days from my anniversary date. How did that happen, when did that happen.

I admit this is not the first time I have gone 345 days sober. (pregnancies, religious experiences) This is the first time I have gone 345 days sober for all the right reasons. For myself. My sane, sober minded, loveable and now likeable self.

My signature line when I first got here was a line from the book that helped open my eyes "Under the Influence". It went something like:
"Now nothing means more to me than my sobriety, not my husband, not my children, not my career. Because without my sobriety, I will loose them all."

I am thankful for SR and the support and friendships that have helped me through one of the most important decisions of my life. I want to give a special shout out to my friend here, known as Least, who was one of the first to welcome me to sobriety. She is struggling right now and I want her to know that her support and outreach were fundamental in helping me achieve 345 days of sobriety.

So give yourself a shout out on how many sober days you have and give thanks!

10 days and 14 hours since I got my life back.

Tazman53 07-20-2009 05:56 AM

1,036 days, it all started with AA, without AA I would have never made it to SR. I use SR today as a part of my recovery. All I really have is today because that is the most improtant sober day for me.

Least hang tough, just stay willing to do what you need to do hon. You are a great asset to us here.

Freeport 07-20-2009 06:16 AM

70 days. Not much compared to most of you, but a whole lot more than too many people. And ultimately all that matters is that, like several of you have said, I'm doing this for all the right reasons this time. Never felt better. The support on SR has helped me so much.
