I'm REALLY upset!!!!
Great story.
You will read in here 2 things.
1. I got plan and incorporated many new patterns into my life to stop drinking and make it to sobriety. This usually includes some combination of SR,AVRT, AA and smart recovery. It doesnt seem to matter whAt that combo is. As long as a a plan is being worked recovery is within our grasps.
2. People working to find the right combo of above to realize their goals.
We're all working to the same goals, and it's always helpful to have someone tell us what changed their life.

Clearly never drinking is paramount. & that was the case for me for a few years.
Then it hit me, was there more to this sobriety thing? Was this it, was I finished with change/growth?
I still felt discontented, and was not centered & balanced....for me, defined as:
Physically relaxed
Emotionally calm
Mentally focused
and spiritually aware
I needed more, hope that might make some sense to someone out there!

Yes I changed many things in my life as well, but those are outside issues to me. My issue was I drank too much too often. If I hadn't stopped drinking when I did I probably wouldn't be alive to type this. The solution to my drinking issue was strict abstinence. Once that was sorted I had the time and energy to enlarge my life. Different strokes I suppose.
Awesome post. Getting that group feedback and also the twelve steps have helped me stay sober, I am a better person and I love that you wrote out so clear your gifts that sobriety gave you.
