First post." Hello everyone"

Hi everyone.
Last year i managed to stay sober for 12 months and like a fool picked up again at christmas. my sprees have been getting steadilly worse since, and i no where i am heading. Luckily though AA has stuck in my head, having gone through the steps during my 12 months of sobriety.
I have had a taste of the life, that really was beond my wildest dreams and i want it back, i have been sober now for 4 days and i want it the sober life back so bad.

Thankyou and hello again x

Thanks, dont worry i will be back at meetings.
But i cant really describe how i feel at the moment, whilst drinking this time AA and the steps where always on my mind ( they spoilt my drinking if you no what i mean ).
And now having once been working the program and seeing what it gives you i want it back. But now i seem to have a whole new attitude towards alcohol because i changed so much whilst working the program and only when i stopped and thought i could drink like a gentle man again i realised how much this stuff really tricks you. xx

Yah Free!! ( I think I'm gonna call u that now...cuz I believe NOW that you just maybe are F R E E!!!)

((((((HUGS)))))

I'm so thrilled to see you say that you thought of your program the whole time you drank! That is the positive effect it had and HAS on you. Remember in the Big Book where it tells us how "Cunning, Baffling and Powerful Alcohol" is??

You just said it yourself. Get back to the good life friend! It's up to YOU and you will be enjoying the benefits more than ever before this time around!

All the very best to you,

Love Pancake XO

I do think some people join AA with the (sometimes sub-conscious) notion that by dealing with their mental state, they will learn to drink like a normal person. I tried this with counselling (guess what happened? )

"There is a solution" but not that kind!

I think your experience will make your step 1 that much stronger. And you know how good a sober life can be!

Best wishes!
