I'm Fat....
I'm Fat....
Not Orca fat, but I am definately overweight. I have gained about 60 pounds since I stopped being a personal trainer and started drinking about 5 years ago. I am going to start working out today and want to be back to my 200lbs by my daughters B-Day in Oct. I figure that will be a pretty cool gift if my daughter can have a skinny dad. Since I have stopped drinking, I think I am ready to also try to make myself healthier. I am pretty freaked out about losing my life to being unhealthy now that I enjoying it so much. Wish me luck.

Well, you don't look fat to me. <Shrug>
Good Luck! Being healthy would be a wonderful gift for yourself as well as for your daughter. I'm feeling that same drive to get healthy. Who knew all the good stuff sobriety brings?!

You don't look fat to me either! Good luck, daughter's b'day is great motivation. I just started to get back into shape and it's working very well, my motivation is I'm going to be a grandma for the 2nd time in January and I've decided I am going to be the hottest looking grandma in Texas!

I started a 16 week program to get back in shape about 6 weeks ago (39 days actually but who is counting).
It has helped me focus onto fitness and off of other destructive behavior, like drinking and eating sweets.
Posting about it here has kept my level of commitment to it high.
Good luck in your goal. That is a lot to lose but I am sure your fitness courses will now pay you dividends.

And once again..... I can relate! I went to college 10 years ago in great shape after high school football and tennis. I played tennis in college, so that helped keep me in shape. But after college, and the drinking I packed on about 60 myself! I have tried to work out, but up until getting sober, I just didn't have the energy or feel well enough to do it. I actually got up this morning and went for a run now that I am sober. I hope to get some weight off as well! Best of luck and keep me posted on this also!
I understand where you are coming from. If you want there is a forum just for that,
Fitness, Health, and Nutrition. I posted a couple of ideas if you would like to read them on "I don't know if I'll ever lose weight" something like that. A really good idea since I dont know much about you, when you go to your gym, just tell them your looking for some helpful (free) advice. Good luck, keep me posted how you are doing!

So funny going through my old threads. I saw thins one and had to laugh. Since this I have ran a marathon, 3 half marathons, and lost about 50 lbs. It is so funny how alcohol not only wrecks our bodies, but also our minds. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
