Looking forward to a Sober & Happy 4th

Hi everyone... though I'm still taking things "one day at a time" at this new stage of my recovery, I am thinking ahead to the weekend and anticipating a wonderful 4th of July, free of alcohol, to enjoy with my kids and my dog. I am going to stay away from parties, at least this year, since that makes it easier for me to avoid the temptation to drink. I hope all my friends on here have a great weekend and think about taking care of themselves as well.

Happy Canada Day, too. Did not know that -- the things you learn on here!!!

I am going to have my first sober 4th, we are going camping with friends who are drinkers so the temptation is going to be there, but I am not going to take the first drink. They arent big drinkers and I know my husband is going to want to drink also, but I am determined to stay sober. Hope everyone has agreat 4th.

Have a wonderful 4th! I'm having a few people over for a BBQ. Ribs, corn on the cob, watermelon, all those kinds of summer junk food. This is my first sober 4th, too. For some weird reason, I think this one will be my best yet. I can see myself cleaning up the next morning without a hangover...SWEET...

We're headed out of town to ball game on the third, and there will be a big fireworks display afterward. I'm not sure if a game will bring more temptation than just being at home. We'll drive back on the 4th, probably put it ear plugs and go to bed early.

I hope everyone enjoys a sober weekend.
