You are doing great Jim - Bald Jim, that is! I love your posts and your style.
Four weeks IS a long time and just keep posting here and it will get easier to resist, even when your mind is saying you want a drink.
I'm approaching seven months thanks to coming to SR every day. I'm even leaving this morning for New York for a week and I'm not slightly worried about drinking on my vacation. That's how strong SR can make a person combined with some good old fashioned will power.
Congrats in advance on 30 days coming next!!

Congratulations Jim! I know your mates were an issue originally and I'm glad that you have found your feet! Once one is sober, it is amazing how many wonderful, fun and intelligent people seem to appear everywhere! I always say that a sober life may not always be good, but it is ALWAYS better! Don't forget us on the LIS thread. We miss you!

aa is a very powerful thing baldjim. it's great that you're getting all the support you need here but there are a lot of positives to be gained from face to face human interactions. i'd still be soaking wet if it weren't for aa and my sponsor. if you find yourself having serious difficulties with staying dry aa and sponsorship may be something to consider. i'm not trying to knock this page or the many wonderful people here by any means. it is a very special thing but if it were the only thing i'd still be slobbering drunk. i by no means am trying to preach. just sharing.
be well baldjim and congrats on 30 days!

Congratulations Jim. I have enjoyed all of your posts and style too. You are a definite assset to this community.
I am on my own for this ride too, with the help of SR of course and I also found the first month the hardest. My old drinking buddies are just a distant memory now.
Keep it going.
