Thanks / I feel great
Thanks / I feel great
Thanks to all of you for your positive support. I am sure that is the only way I made it through the past three days. I actually feel great this morning. NO more shakes, no more dry heaves, no more mental insanity pacing the floor, no trying to sleep wishing this would pass or I would, no more numbness in my hands, and no more crazy mind racing dark thoughts. THANK YOU!
I was in a really bad place and I now feel like the sun is shining on me. Truly one of the hardest things I have ever been through. I know that it is not over and I am still sweating a lot, but I know I can make it now thanks to SR people's support. On F'n day at a time!
My wife and daughter get home today and I am proud to say I will meet them sober....hasn't happened in a long time.

That's great! Now just stay the course. if you think you feel good now wait until you hit 30 days.
Caution though - you may start to feel so good your disease will let you think you can drink again (I know I did). Each successive detox got worse. Just don't ever go there.
Good luck and keep posting.

Congrats. I'm at almost 30 days sober and the physical part is much easier now. However, be wary of the desire to "reward" yourself with a drink just because you are doing so good. I've made it a couple weeks before and decided to "reward" myself and the outcome has always been horrendous.
I have heard a guy in my home group remind people as they pick up chips for 30/60/90 days:
That is some great advice.
Remember, there is no step that says "and then we re-gained power over alcohol"
Thanks once again for all of the good advise. I know this is far from over and I really have to watch myself and remember the bad times that occur from drinking.
Thanks so much for the communication, it mean the world to me.
