One of the best things about being sober...

...is being able to take (or is that leave?) a nice, healthy dump.

Bear down with me, folks. I'm actually being serious.

Alcohol really screwed up my intestines and whatnot.

Now my bowel workings are a lot calmer...the movements are a normal color...and are becoming a more healthy consistency. I just relieved myself...and I didn't spray the sides of the bowl! It was pretty clean! And when I flushed the water didn't change color!

That's big for me...I've had BM issues for years now. This has been a source of pain...yes, actual physical pain...and an inconvenience. Having those kind of problems can be disruptive to all sorts of functions.

It's nice that things are improving down there. It has taken a few months for things to move towards normal...and I'm pretty sure there's a good chance it will get even better.

I'm not so worried about making sure there is a bathroom close by everywhere I go now. I still think about it a bit (it's always wise to be prepared), but I have more trust now with my inner workings.

This post gave me a bit of a chuckle. I definitely know what you are talking about. It can be a bit of a scary thing during periods of heavy drinking. I really hope to stay both sober and regular

Ditto. In my downward spiral towards hitting bottom, I spent months and months with chronic digestive problems. Loss of appetite, all day long heartburn, irritated bowel syndrome, chronic diarrhea. Scary thing is I still didn't stop drinking. Just popped more antacids....

LOL.

Windy (who else?) had a similar post like this a year or 2 ago. I am sure we all experienced it, I know I did.

Alcohol does so much damage in so many ways. It's a great relief to be without it.

Ive been sober for some 18 yrs now
and even tho alcohol isnt a problem
today there are and can be other
issues to affect ur system.

As we stay sober and as we get older,
our bodies go thru all sorts of inner
changes....

Digestive, nerves, bones, organs,
chelestrol, blood pressures, emotional,
phsycological....and so on.....

I just under went a full hip replacement
a week ago and that was major surgery.

Going thru that kind of operation ur body
is put thru all sorts of obsticals to help
heal u inside and out.

Pain medicine from the beginning which
tears up ur insides, to help relieve pain
beforeduring and after recovery.

All this poison in my system to help
medically yet puts a toll my insides.

Ive been experiencing nauseas from
these pain pills which ive alerted the
doctors already. My stomach is unsettling.

Not extreme pain at all....but bothersome.

As of now im recovery period is pretty
quick. Here just under 2 weeks and im
walking with a cane and getting out and
about.

Exercise is going good to.

This may not be the last time i
will have to experience a situation
like this, however when ever it happens
i will again use my recovery program
to guide me every step of the way.

LOL! Me too! I use the "New Posts" forum and so I get a little bit of everything. I never used to pay any attention from what forum the threads came, I just responded. Turns out, I inadvertently posted in the Men's Room a couple of times. Ooops!
