I find this post very helpful. I also find myself avoiding social situations involving alcohol. I'm not sure what others are thinking right now, but I notice a sort of irritation when I make excuses to not go out. Thanks for posting and for everybody that responded!!

loosing friends happened me too the few times I tried to quit in any meaningful way. The phone never rang once in 4 months.


Its the perfect excuse to go drinking again, but I am a lot older this time and realise that you make the bed that you end up lying down on. The truth for me was that I chose friends that were drinkers, so I didnt have to get close to them.
