Back and Scared
Today is day one.
I fell off my program and fell hard,
and today is the first sober day in days.
I don't know what set me off, it took only one glass of wine
and I was OFF TO THE RACES.
Just for today, I will not drink, and I will take care of myself.
I will excercise for 30 minutes.
I will go to bed early.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS>

Thanks for sharing this Ladyb. It's a great example of how that one drink opens the door.
My suggestion would be to get to an AA meeting, find a woman there who talks of a spiritual solution to alcoholism contained in the Big Book, and ask her for help in taking the steps. I suggest that only because it's what I had to do. It worked for me and it's worked for countless others.

Go to a meeting, post here, call someone, any of the above, before you take that first drink. If you can commit to that, you will be well on your way. Easier said than done, but at the same time, many do it every day. Take care and welcome back.
Glad you came back. Some never do. At least you want to get better. I relapsed too many times to count when I was first wanting to get sober. It took me many tries to finally "get it" but I finally did. so can you. Do'nt give up on yourself. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start moving forward again. You CAN do this. If I can do this, anyone can.:ghug
Here is some stuff that helped me.
went to an meeting of alcoholics anonymous and asked for.....
help to understand the big book
help to understand why i returned to drinking even though i swore (and meant it)...to never drink again.
help me to understand why...when im convinced i can have a couple of beers i always end up in the spare room or worse... and remember little of it.
there was nothing else that helped ME stop and stay stopped........i tried them all...numerous times.
only my experience........but i hope it helps.
