Hi all, just wanted to share that I have been on unemployment since Jan. of this year. Been searching high and low for something in and out of my field, not a whole lot out there. And by applying for a job link that was meant for someone else (I belong to a professional group in my field, wherein jobs are posted in said field, this particular job had been posted for this lady, but I applied to the hiring manager anyhow, explaining that had she found something else, I was still very interested), and the original woman had moved onto another, I was phone interviewed last week, got sent HR paperwork (background check, etc.) on Friday, and just got an offer letter and accepted it yesterday!!! YAY!!!

This job is a temporary position, that guarantees me full time work through the end of July, but is more than welcome right about now!!! (A job is better than NO JOB). I am filling in as a Writer for another Writer who is out on maternity leave at this particular company, and I will be allowed to perform the job from home!! They will be sending me a laptop by Thursday (projected start date) and that will be my official first day. So I am very anxious (in a good way) and happy!!! Just thought I would share this bit of good news with all of you! I'm already cleaning up this little "computer corner" to set it up as my workspace in preparation for Thursday.

As you say, a job is better than no job. THis sounds like it might be the start of some good things to come. Congrats!

It couldn't have come at a better time!!! My hubby and I have been managing, but the bills have been piling up. Lord knows, though, we have been saving a LOT of money by my not buying beer/booze!!! (Thank you God!).

I am off to shower and hit my daily meeting! Thanks again for the kind comments!
