Thumbs up TOPIC: Surgery. Recovery. Following Directions. Postive End Results.

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely grateful.

Surgery for my Hip replacement is
in a few days. I missed an import-
ant last appointment this passed
Friday by mistake. I couldnt believe
i did that.

Thank God the nurse called to let
me know and that it was ok and
to make sure i dont take certain
things prior to the operation and
that my operation is at 8am and
Not 11am. oops.!

Now that would be a big boo boo
missing my surgery....lol

Things like no blood thinners and
no food after midnight.

As of now im in good spirits and
looking forward to getting this
done and most of all following
al the directions before during
and after surgery in order to get
the best results at the end.

With my stubborness i wanted to
hurry up and get back on my feet
as quickly as i can. Then today my
husband was talking to his boss
and he shared that it is important
to follow the after recovery therephy
all the way to the end or i would
end up with a limp in my walk like
a relative of his has.

And i surely dont want a limp. Im
already walking like that and its no
fun.

So, im gonna follow thru till the very
end.

Its just amazing that you never have
to go thru anything in ur life alone
ever again. Reaching out for help
and questions, there will always be
someone whose been there done
what ever it is before and can share
their own ESH with u.

Just knowing that someone else didnt
follow thru because they thought they
could do it on their own......sounds so
familiar to what id do....and now i know
better.

Thanks for letting me share as i keep
SR up to date before during and after
my hospital experience.
