A new day for me...

Hello everyone,

Yesterday my hubby and I went to my mom's house to celebrate Memorial Day and my hubby's birthday (in which is really today), so while we were there, we drank some beer. Mind you my hubby's hardly ever drinks...so I know he is probably like, why did I do it.
With that being said....today is my Day 1 again and it will be an easy date to remember since it's my old man's birthday...lol.
It really shouldn't be so hard to do since I know it will be a very long time before he drinks again, so I don't have to worry about him doing it in front of me...thank goodness. I'm the one with the problem...not him.
I just wanted to come clean with everyone and let you know that today is a new day for me
I hope everyone is doing fine.
Thanks for reading this.
Lots of HUGS!
:ghug2
XOXO

Perhaps, this would be a good time to seriously consider what led up to the relapse? Taking a drink is usually the end result of a process that began much earlier. Why not go to a meeting tonight and share about it? You could even pick up some literature to help you in your recovery while you are there!

Welcome back and keep moving forward!!

I'm with wolf on this.......do something, I'm NOT looking to beat you up, but dare I say, you might just want to look at some sort of formal recovery program/doing something differently.......

You asked once about me & how.

Im glad that you are back & have a new date. In your post you said somewhat casually "so while we were there, we drank some beer"

Would you be willing to share the internal thoughts you had (if any) before drinking? Did you try to say no but were challenged "come on you can have one" did you say "sure I will have a beer" or maybe grab one from the cooler/fridge after saying no & others were partying around you. It would be a good exercise for you to share exactly what happened & what your thought process was (even if it was justification) "its only a beer".

I am also new to recovery & your story could help myself & others (but more importantly... you!). What is going to be different the next time your hubby drinks??? From the way I read your post that is going to be your next day 1.

All the best in your recovery

NB

Thanks for writing...
I really didn't have any before hand thoughts and no one challenged me...I just did it.
I know that sounds terrible.
Since I'm so new to this recovery process, I can't offer much advice....but I do hope to offer support to those who need it.
Again, thanks for responding to my post....greatly appreciated
All the best in your recovery as well.
XOXO
