The grass is greener and the sky more blue!

Good Morning... and Happy Friday!

I went for a walk last night. Man the world seems like a better place now... I am so happy. On my walks, last year around this time I was walking and thinking about all the things I needed to change about me ('slow down' drinking, stop doing C), but when I walk now... I have nothing bad to think about... I can really enjoy myself and take in the great air and scenery. What an amazing feeling I must say!!!

It hasn't been raining puppy dogs and rainbows though out my sobriety... Like most, I have had many struggles. So I wanted to share with everyone who is at the very beginning, or even 3 years in and struggling... please keep working on your recovery. Things WILL look up for you. Your life will start making sense, and it is SO worth it!!!! I know I'm not in the clear... I need to work on staying sober everyday. But my mind is definitely different... I put me first now!!

Have a wonderful SAFE and SOBER weekend!

I can so totally relate. I'm only on my third day, but life looks so much better already.

Thanks for the post Shanman - indeed it is inspiring. Three years is totally awesome (I'm temporarily in the states so can use that word). I'm sober today as well, and am looking forward to the long weekend hangover free.

I'm sorry... I should have been more clear. I have only been sober now for 7 months. What I meant by 3 years was no matter how long you have been sober, we still struggle and sometimes don't see the beauty in life until we have worked thru everything.

And you should use AWESOME all the time... it's an awesome word... LOL

Thanks,
Shannon

It is grand being sober isn't it! The whole world seems brighter and safer, more friendly, not perfect, but a lot better! I see the world through a new pair of glasses today and I love what I see and I love this topic!
