Hey everyone. I've been sober for five days now which is the longest time in about 7 or 8 years i guess. Although I am craving a drink to an extent, it's the withdrawls I'm having the most problems with. Where exactly is your liver? coz I think mine is really tender. Also, is it normal to wake up with your whole body dripping wet with sweat? what's that about??
Anyway, It's nice to realise I'm not alone in the quest for pastures new..

Sounds like it could be WD..I am not positive tho.
I am not a drinker. But I have heard that sweating happens when someone stops. Shaking and sick feeling.
Have you seen a dr?
Glad you are here. Stick around and I hope you feel better soon.

Profuse sweating is absolutely a common effect of alcohol withdrawal. But after five days, you should be over that part of it by now. Recently, when I detoxed (medically supervised) I would wake up in the middle of the night and my whole body would literally be soaked. IF you don't go to the doctor, please be sure and drink as many fluids as possible. Proper hydration is key.
Don't fool around. Go see your doctor. If for no other reason he should be aware that you're an alcoholic. You're off to a good start with 5 days and you're finding out that it ain't easy, bubba. But quitting drinking is actually the easy part, it's staying quit that's hard. I suggest you try AA for a while. That can be a major benefit on the rocky road to recovery.
Welcome and keep coming back!!

Welcome and congrats on 5 days! When I detoxed everytime I managed to fall asleep I'd wake up drenched in sweat a short time later. It went away after 5 nights.
Good choice to get checked out by a doctor asap.

Thanks for everyone's advice and encouragement. I'm seeing a Doctor on Tuesday. Also the sweats were pretty much non existant last night/this morning. You guy's really know what your talking about! It's definately easier to listen to people who've been there. Onwards and upwards together!
