Smile I've got 90 days sober today!

Just checked my sobriety date and today is 90 days! I'm halfway back to where I was when I relapsed and am much more determined to succeed this time around.

Thanks to all of you for your continuous support! It would be a lonely journey without my friends!

I'm not working a 'formal' recovery program, just that I like staying sober and that staying sober is the best way to be healthy. Staying sober means that I accept whatever comes my way without escaping into a bottle of oblivion. It means that I'm eliminating all the horrible things that can happen when I drink. It means being the best 'me' I can possibly be, which is not possible if I drink.

I used to see fear as F@ck Everything And Run, now it's Face Everything And Recover. It's the difference between night and day, and I don't want to go back into that long dark night. I know what's waiting for me back there and I no longer want that life.

Being sober means being 'whole' and fully engaging in life. I like myself so much better whole and healthy and sober. I want to be sober far more than I could ever want to drink. I have my self-respect back again and that means the world to me.
