Day one....
 

Found this site a few days ago and think it's really going to help me. This is day one for me. Last night was hell. I went to go to an AA meeting, but for some reason just couldn't go in. I then ended up drinking 12 cans of beers. Not a wise choice obviously. I feel terrified about the future, work, relationships, failure and just can't shake it. I've tried going sober before and the longest I've managed is 8 days. I got made redundant two weeks ago and don't think I can return to full time work until I've started to sort my head out. This then sets off a whole chain reaction of worries. Anyway I'm starting today and will be off to a meeting tonight. I hope I have the courage to go in!

Welcome Fox and I really hope you do go in. The fear won't last once you go end. We all have the fear of not knowing and not controlling. You can beat this disease and with f2f support and SR I have no doubt you will succeed this time. Glad you've joined. :)

Hey... rather than think of the negative of last night... you may not have gone in (done that myself)... but you went.... you attempted to go in.... that shows willing and guts in my opinion....

Todays a new day... so try and get in the door.... as Horselover said... we all have the fear of the unknown... and its that fear that our addictions use to keep their old on us... and when we face our fears its generally not quite as bad as we thought it would be....

I get petrified at each meeting... i still go cos i am not going to let my fear control me... i control me.... do you want to control you?
