It's hard... We used to be so close. She is 6 years younger than I am, and unfortunately I wasn't a real good influence on her when she would come up and stay with me in college. I would let her come to parties and drink with me. If only I could go back in time..
All I can do now is to be a good influence for her and I think setting boundaries is a good start.

I'm seven years older than my brother, and feel some of the same responsibility toward him and his drinking. I'm hoping he'll respect what I'm doing, re-examine his drinking, and our relationship will never deteriorate into what you've described with your sister. For today, it starts with me, and I hope it will unfold from there.
