Met with addiction therapist today...

For those of you who have been following my posts and supporting me, I just wanted to let you know I went to my appt. today at the Health Center, they did the intake, got all my info etc...and I start Monday...group/individual therapy...I told the therapist about my anxiety and she also gave me an appt. with a psychiatrist who works out of that center, I think I do need some meds for my anxiety...I asked about AA...and she said they actually have meetings at the center, so everything is in one place...seems promising..Thanks to members on here who suggested an addiction therapist...The only thing is I have to get a TB test :/, she said it's required for everyone in the group...I really had no idea what road to take to get better...I got alot of great advice and feedback on here, so thank you again...so it looks like I will be attending AA and group/individual therapy there...I got the ball rolling, which I didn't think I was going to do, but I'm glad I took that step...New life for me starts Monday

Great to hear And I've had lots of TB tests for jobs I've worked, it's barely a skin *****... they inject a tiny bit of it, to see if your skin reacts.. you'll be ok!

Great steps you're taking, I'm proud of you.

Wow! Terrific! Wonderful! You've gotten a lot done in a short time and that, my good friend Sweetie, is absolutely amazing. I am happy for you and promise not to yell at you again as long as you stay in AA. Please keep us posted, ok?

Glad to hear you've got the ball rolling. I hope it all turns out well. And remember, if your therapist isn't a good 'fit', request another one. Trust and comfort are a must for successful therapy!

Thank you, oh yeah believe me...the last therapist I had was uh let's just say very unprofessional and, actually just plain weird lol...so yes, if I'm not comfortable or I don't feel that particular one is right for me, I won't hesitate to ask for someone else.
