Favorite Recovery Book

Alright I have read a million recovery books. The one I am reading now might be one of my favorites so far. And I have never seen it mentioned on this site so I thought that I would mention it. I think it is particularly helpful for people who want a spiritual program but have problems with the language or approach of AA. Although I also think it completely complements the AA program. So it is helpful for all. I guess it is sort of a blend of cognitive behavioral, buddhism, and common sense. I just really like it.

Mindful Recovery: A Spiritual Path to Healing from Addiction

by Thomas Bien, PhD and Beverly Bien, M.Ed.

What is your favorite recovery book?

My favourite, and the book that spoke to me is "The Seat of the Soul" by Gary Zukav.

I also love Eckhart Tolle's 'A New Earth'.

I haven't read too many recovery books, but I read and loved Drinking: A Love Story by Caroline Knapp. I could relate to it cause her relationship with alcohol was a dysfunctional love affair, and I've been in bad love affairs where the object of my affection treated me like dirt, which is just like my relationship was with alcohol.

My favorite book does not relate to recovery, it is a book on self help "The Greatest Miracle In The World" by Og Mandino
