Glad you're here. There is great support here. I get through my addiction "one day at a time" which you might not want to hear but it is true. When I look at where I was 350 days ago, I know I don't want to go back there. I am here....350 days clean. Life is rough but it's a clean life and can only get better. I know it would be much worse if I were using.

Welcome to SR! You've found a great place for support, friendship, advice and knowing that you are not alone.
I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic whose DOC (drug of choice) was also opiates. I can relate to the expression of taking handfuls because I did it for many, many years as well. As a result, I felt like I could never live my life without pills. But once I completely surrendered, my life began to change and now I cannot imagine going back to the madness of active addiction.
I cannot tell you how important Meetings were to me in my early days. I had to be around others who knew what I was going through and from them, I learned the Tools of Recovery.
Keep sharing as much as you feel comfortable with, read, read, read and don't overwhelm yourself of thinking that you cannot ever use again, just keep it One Day at A Time.
God Bless,
Judy
