Just registered on this site
Hi everyone, I'm Mary52. I'm a drug addict in recovery "again" and by the grace of God will remain in recovery now. I have close to 11 1/2 months clean now. I'm getting close to one year and have some mixed feelings (not about using or drinking.....just a lot of emotions coming to the surface).
I'll write more later as now I have to leave to go get a friend and go to my home group. I just wanted to jump in quick since I got my registration completed and say "Hi" and I'll be looking through here and probably posting later. I tend to keep a lot inside, tho, so I might not talk much.
This looked like a helpful site for me so wanted to try it.

Hi Mary,
Welcome!
We're glad to have you here, and I hope that you enjoy reading and learning and hopefully, posting, sometimes.
I think anniversaries can be a mixed blessing because they are often filled with many emotions. Good for you for 11 1/2 months sober! That's great!

Glad you signed up with us! And congratulations on getting close to that one year mark . . . it's incredible when we look back when we thought we wouldn't make it through that first day, isn't it? I didn't get a computer and find SR until I had about 2 1/2 years but it has been a Godsend to me. No matter what time, day or night, there are always people here, threads to read and realize that I am far from being alone in my Recovery. I hope eventually you'll get past holding everything inside and share more when you're comfortable.
God Bless & Keep it Simple,
Judy

Thank you all. I look forward to getting to know you. And even though I tend to keep things inside....once I get going on something......well...haha. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Hey Mary, welcome to SR and congrats on almost a year. Glad to hear you have a home group, a home group I find to be so awesome, kind of like "Cheers", where everyone knows your name!
I did to, I have found that the old saying that a problem shared is a problem halfed to be very true. There is some thing I feel freeing in letting it out, usually I will just let it out to this I trust and know, but you know sometimes this is an excellent place to let things out as well, a good place to begin to let go with an additional layer of anonymity.
I tend to keep a lot inside,
