Early recovery is very hard and a time to learn and grow.

I'm glad you're seeking support.

I also used to think I could control alcohol and that I could quit on my own anytime I wanted to.

Meetings, a sponsor, and the 12 steps.

Gives me a way to live a good life & the strength to get through those tough days without drinking.

First meeting December 17, 2007 - not one drink since.

I stopped drinking many times too, it was staying stopped I had the trouble with. I have managed to do that for quite a while now with the help of A.A and the bonus was the great freedom i have. i dont feel chained to alcohol anymore. I Kept going to meetiings, got a sponser and started on the steps, and the miracle happened. I have many new sober friends now in A.A always ready with support or just for coffee and a good old laugh.......

I'm glad you are moving forward
Many of us had false starts before we actually quit.

Marty, good for you for getting right back on that horse and getting to a meeting...the one bright side about relapse is there is usually something good for us to learn that we can fold back into our recovery...keep coming back...

Hi Marty,

It is hard to walk into your first AA meeting but it does get easier. Few people can do this alone. Keep coming back.

Hi Marty, Glad you tried an AA Meeting. I find they are extremely helpful in my recovery. Did you get numbers? We are all here to help each other.
