when you are at a meeting, you are home.
below is a little something that I wrote for someone who was in distress at a meeting this morning. He had about 35 days clean. he was already stressed out when he spilled his coffee just as the meeting was starting. I helped him clean it up and wanted to write him a little something...and this is what i wrote for him (the meeting topic was the 12th step):
Sometimes it’s hard to “awaken”, because it hurts and now we are just beginning to feel the hurt but we don’t have much experience in that. So keep your chin up when it hurts and hang in there when you feel alone, and don’t worry about spilt coffee. And when you are at a meeting, you are home.

Ksplash. I swear I had you on my mind yesterday and was thinking about a thread you had started several last year where each day you tried again and again and again. Now you are clean and helping new members at meetings. I thought your note was very sweet. That's all it takes sometimes to make a difference. Thanks for sharing it with us.
