Newcomer here.

Heya, I'm new here. I'm Jhay, 23, and I'm an alcoholic and addict. I've gone to my first two AA meetings after trying and failing multiple times on my own and I'm looking into attending NA as well. I'm trying to stay strong but need more support from people who know what I'm going through. I look forward to getting to know others here along the way as well as myself. :bunny2:

Heya thanks! Are there not too many around here? I know I panicked at first when I walked into my first meeting and not only was I the only young one there but the only girl! Then one more female and one younger guy came in later lol.

Welcome Jhay,
Yeah age has no barriers on this problem. I attend AA meetings where there are bunches of young people involved. We commonly see people under twenty picking up 1 year chips. It's so much better to get a handle on this while you are young! Congrats for being here!

Welcome to SR!! Keep coming back...

jhay 04-11-2009 10:38 AM

Thanks guys! I had a really rough time last time as I've been super irritable and lashed out at someone I care about. I'm on Day 6 today and woke up feeling better. With my work schedule I won't be able to attend meetings as often as I like so I have a feeling I will be on here a lot - late at night especially. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm glad I found the site.
