1 year of change

I haven't been on here for a while but wanted to give an update. Today is 1 year since I stopped using cocaine except for the 1 screw up that happened in November. For all you die hard AA folks who won't consider it my 1 year until November lets just call it 1 year of deciding to make a change.

So what have I changed....I've stopped using all drugs. I've lost 70 pounds. I've moved out of the house from an abusive wife. I've begun a new job search to get back into my field of degree - Accounting. I've started to build my relationship back with God, 2 children, and parents. I've made some really good friends both on SR and in the real world.

So what have I realized....well I have realized that it is ok to be humble and to live a simple life. I've realized that there are some really good people in this world. I've realized that I'm not always right (not even close to it). I've realized that I need to be appreciative of even the smaller things in life. Maybe that is why I got so excited this morning when I saw a fox running across the farm this morning. I've realized that it is really important to help out others when it is at all possible. I've realized that life does go on...

Thank you everyone for all your support and I'm sure I'll need more in the future. Hopefully I can offer more support in the future as I'll have an internet connection at my house soon.

See you soon... :ghug

Good work, brutha! Total abstinence is key for me too.

Good to hear this great news.

Peace.

Thank you for all of your kind words. Today was actually kind of rough...I guess I was expecting today to be a turning point with the new job but it just didn't pan out. Oh well...onward I shall go.

That is definitely a year of hard work! Good for you!! I can imagine what seeing a fox run would do for my spirits, there is such beauty in nature and the creatures on earth just keep appreciating it all.
