Welcome! Talking to a doctor before quitting is a good idea.

Hi Kelly! Welcome to SR! I signed up a couple weeks ago, myself. Time flies when you're having clean fun and it's certainly helped me get to my 60 days much faster. Take one day at a time though. I always tell myself, when I feel like using, that I can go get some tomorrow if I wanted to. But TODAY I stay clean and don't use.

Hey Kelly, thanks for clearing that up for me...I was thinking about that
acronym on the way to work this morning, and I thought I had it figured
out...geez, I hope you find this as funny as I did, but I thought it must mean:
Single Alcoholic Homosexual Male, geez, sometimes I worry about me.
I think they refer to this as Rule 62, anyways, hope you are hanging in there!

Kelly, it's great that you know what has to be done. I realized early on that I didn't drink like a normal person, but kept putting off doing something about it for decades. In the end I was easily able to drink a 30 pack and still be standing. (Can you imagine what that kind of tolerance for alcohol does to our livers?) In my last years of drinking I managed to get 3 DUI's, alienate people, ruin my health, and more. SR has helped me get well after 25 yrs. of abuse. Welcome to the family.
