I was researching websites to find help for myself and found this. After reading how helpful people were to one another, I had to register.
I am addicted to hydrocodone for years now. I'm tired of it, I miss who I was..so full of energy, so modivated. Now I just think of pills, pills, pills. Can I go see my family if I'm almost out of pills? Can I make it to work? My whole life is being decided on how many pills I have. I can't take it.
Today is my last refill. I have chosen to end this - I have the 'luxury' of being able to wane (taper) myself off. I've read others, poor souls, having to do this cold turkey. I know the feeling - when I ran out. I was tearing up just reading.
I hope I can lean on others for help...how do I do this? I can I taper off knowing I have an entire bottle? The temptation will be overwhelming.

I have no experience with pills either, I was a wino. I'd also suggest posting this in the Substance Abusers forum. There will be more people with experience there to offer support and suggestions.

Hi and welcome. If you want you can check out the substance abuse forum, many people there have experience coming off opiates (hydrocodone is an opiate right?) Anyway, we are here for you.
