(((Dee)))

As usual, you've got us all thinking...

Gosh. Read all the great stuff below. Advice, thanks, sharing, love and most of all -- appreciation.

...for you AND for all the good things so many of us often forget that we have.

It's pretty easy to sit here wallowing and ruminating, ya know! lol

Stick to your guns and I'm sure you'll soon find some way to get the services you need and deserve.

Hey, Dee....

Wow. Do you realize what a truly awesome person you are? I mean, you have Everyone supporting you....doesn't matter if they are getting sober by staring at spots on the wall, they all support you.

I'm not sure where I"m going with this....I guess your out look on life is to be commended. You are fair, firm and have a wonderful sense of humor. Many times your posts on this forum have put my life in perspective and this thread is no different. I very much respect you and the way you are trying to handle your situation.

Good things are coming your way.....can you feel it?!

My very best of wishes to you, Dee.

Well the only reply I have so far is the Patient Transport Service who I hoped would transport me to the Hospital...nope I'm out of their area...which stops a mile or two from me.

I'm chasing up local providers but from what I read it looks like they only do seniors and only the local area - so I'm gonna have to make some noise.

I had an appointment tomorrow I can't get to now because I can't currently manage the two buses and walking involved.

I did find a bus for local shopping and library tho - so that's a positive step - as soon as they call me back.....

short serenity prayer

Grant!

lol

Do you have to LIVE within the boundaries to qualify for services?

If not... Would they pick you up at any locations (other than home) within their set boundaries if you could get to them? Perhaps your girlfriend could drop you off somewhere on the way to work on the days you have appointments? Or perhaps you could take a cab to a pickup location? It might not cost as much as it does now...

Sorry I'm late on this, but glad to see all the support you've gotten. I'm thinking that with all the prayers and good thoughts coming your way, something's just GOT to work in your favor for your list of "needs". Yes, you have to do the footwork, but you already know that and are doing it.

I'm not surprised at all the support and love that has come your way. We're only giving back, what you've unselfishly given to use. I, for one, am very grateful for you!

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

It's a living qualification Liz - to do with funding - and I live outside the metropolitan area...and rents are keeping me from moving back into that area.
Joseph Heller eat your heart out LOL

I haven't given up tho - I'm still waiting to hear from another home care group, and the local transport service too...if I have to change my physio to another hospital in order to get transport help then that's what I'll do

I was...pernickety...yesterday.
I'm better today

you gotta roll with the punches...and I'll stop there - cos I think I'm quoting David Lee Roth

have a good day all.

Hey, that's an idea..let all of US call, too..nothing like a bunch of recovering addicts and alkies who LOVE their Dee, on a rampage to get justice done...could be interesting

Hugs and prayers!

Well... what's the number?? Better yet, give the address and we can write a lot of angry letters. Diplomatic, but angry. I'd do it.... for you.:ghug3

The idea's tempting S...but for now it's early days - anything more than me would be overkill, I think

The next step, if I can't get anywhere, is disability advocacy...then, if that fails, newspapers, current affairs programmes....and the mighty power of angry SRians LOL

thanks seriously to everyone who's offered tho
I'm not well again today - due in part to this I think - but it does me good to know I have so many people supporting me.

I agree. Newspapers and television exposure might shame them into doing 'the right thing' - the decent humanitarian thing! Bureaucratic bastids!

Just like the way to 'fix' Social Security and Medicare in the US would be to put members of Congress on it! Hah! It would be 'fixed' in no time!

It's a cliche, but true, that the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Make noise!!

Dee, I don't have a lot to say, other than thank you for sharing this. It takes strength to accept these things, and I admire you for working through and being grateful. Thanks again for this post. It is what it is, isn't it?

Much love and peace to you.
