Can't Stay Away From SR
Can't Stay Away From SR
Hello my friends,
I need to be here talking to you guys and sharing my experiences. I am finishing up Day 7 and I feel awesome. I have been taking the Antabuse so obviously I havent drank. I have thought about it few times, but smarter heads prevailed. I went to the movies today with my family and it was awesome to not be hungover. THis is the first weekend in a long time where I can say I wasn't hungover at all. I was able to play with my kids, do chores around the house and just be "normal" and happy. I asked my wife today if I am back to the person she wants me to be and she said I am that and more. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!!!
I am looking into playing in a men's lacrosse league. I have never played before but I am a big fan of the sport. I figure that will help me stay motivated and get my fat butt in shape. It is also cheaper then the ice hockey league I looked into. Plus I get to be outside.
Anyway, thanks to all who posted on my thread about why I shouldn't leave. I am glad I thought it through and came back. I have missed you guys. I need you guys. I also figure if I am doing well, you guys need me. I am going to do my best to stay a positive influence on this board and help all those in need. Let's continue to do this together. I love you all.

I am very happy you came back.
Sounds like you had a very positive 7 days.
Thats great.
Just remember. Clean or not. This is a place for support and there are people here who care.
You dont always have to be the caregiver here. We all need help and support at some point.
I learn alot from peoples struggles as well as their victories.
Glad your back and stick around now.

Glad you decided to stick with us Chris.
Your experiences with Antabuse will definitely be helpful to others that are going that route.
I think this will be your time to succeed after you see how great your family life is with you sober.

I'm glad you didn't stay away....I was wondering how you were going to do that, just knowing how addictive this place is....
Congrats on your 7 days in that is awesome
I guess I will be seeing you around, welcome back!

THnkas everyone for the kind words. I am going on Day 8 right now and I feel good. I did kinda dry heave this morning, which I thought was kind of weird, but other than that, I haven't seen any side effects from the Antabuse. I still am having a little bit of a hard time falling asleep, but it is getting better. The night sweats are going away as well. Anyway, it is great to be back and I cant wait to share my 30th day sober with you guys.

Congrats on day 8...I feel your excitement...
Each passing day will get better...My self esteem sky rocketed after being sober two weeks...When I had a bad day, I had an easier time coping with it...
Keep up being positive, and know that you are a power of example...

I don't want to leave here. I have so many friends here and love them all. This place is crucial to my recovery and sanity. I stay home most of the time and this is my way of connecting to the rest of the world. And if I have the urge to drink, I come here and read and post and it goes away. I'm glad you're back too!

Glad to have you back bro! And glad to hear things are looking up again. Keep it up and stick around. You're a great guy and deserve a great life sober. And time with your family will be so much better sober rather than hungover. Keep up the great work!
